Upbeat Music Workshops

Please join us for our first installment of Upbeat Music Workshops with Daniel Marc. UMW is an innovative series created by Marc, focusing on a range of subjects from creativity and improvisation to current events and issues in the music industry of the 21st century. Group exercises, live music and lively discussion are all important components of these workshops. “I am hoping to leave people with three P’s: a Packet of some great information, a Performance, and most importantly, a Philosophical takeaway. We are trying to open people’s ears to new worlds of thought regarding music itself and the music industry.”
Marc is a songwriter, bandleader, guitarist, venue founder and educator in the Hudson Valley. He has been called a “music philosopher” by the HV publication, Chronogram, and has worked with many of the luminaries in the live music scene including Oteil Burbridge, Vinnie Amico, Kenwood Dennard, Bill Carbone, Russ Lawton, Tony Markellis, Melvin Seals and more.

Yonrico Scott is an American drummer and percussionist. He was a longtime member of the Grammy winning The Derek Trucks Band, is bandleader of his own ensemble, the Yonrico Scott Band, and is currently working with the Royal Southern Brotherhood, with soul legend Cyril Neville. Having developed his craft not only from years of session work, roadwork, and study, the Cape Cod Times proclaimed him “a standout in the band… whose strong beats powered songs such as ‘I’ll Find My Way’ off the group’s Songlines CD”.
