Palmslap is a funk, soul and world fusion band bringing a new sound to the city of New York. Fronted by drummer and singer, Ben Teters, the music of Palmslap filters classic soul and R&B songwriting through the rhythmically diverse landscapes of afro-latin and other world music traditions.

Since 2014, Palmslap had quickly been attracting attention around NYC playing with bands such as Mad Satta and the Jonathan Scales Fourquestra at venues including The Brooklyn Bowl, Rockwood Music Hall, Daryl’s House, ShapeShifter Lab, The Knitting Factory, and DROM.

Escaper is a Brooklyn, NY based band that blends rock, funk and jazz into a fusion of danceable spacey jams. (Ropeadope Records) Founded in 2016, the Brooklyn based Post-Rock/Space-Funk Fusion quintet strive for a sound without limits.

Recently joining the Ropeadope Records roster, Escaper blends soaring melodies provided by Will Hanza (guitars) with funk-laced rhythms laid down by Andrew Nesbitt (drums) and Jay Giacomazzo. Weaving through this sound are the intricate yet lyrical textures of Adam Ahuja (keys) and Johnny Butler (sax). Slated to release their debut track “Lighthouse” on November 11th, 2016 and full album in early 2017, Escaper are in position to make their mark.

Band members have played everywhere from Bonnaroo, Mountain Jam and Catskill Chill to Brooklyn Bowl and The Blue Note Jazz Club. As Escaper, the band has already shared the stage with notable acts such as G-Nome Project and label mates The Flowdown.

Jonathan “Jelly” Ellington is an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter based in Austin, TX by way of the mountains of Asheville, NC. His vocals are smooth and soulful but his guitar style is edgy and distorted rock n’ roll at the core, chiming in elements of raw and expressive blues and funk. Jelly has developed a reputation for exciting and untamed live performances, and has shared the stage and recorded with Grammy Award-winning artists. Jelly is set to release his debut album All In on May 19, 2017, and he’s holding nothing back.
