Living with Elephants is a quintet pop band from Ulster County. Their moody blend of chamber-soul songs will warm you from the inside. The band is Amy Poux – songwriter, lead vocals, keyboard, Rob Norris – electric bass, Chris Andersen – drums, Jerusha Kellerhouse – violin and Marianne Tasick – vocals and avocado shaker.

Living with Elephants’ new CD, “HOME”, released May 2014, was described by the Times Almanac as “Sublimated gospel, Latin, soul and pop grooves scaled to the muted and acute spaces of Amy Poux’s songs. It is the great rainbow of hush.” The CD was recorded and mixed by Daniel Weintraub at Hell’s Kitchen Recording and The Art Farm, Accord, NY.

Living with Elephants’ first eponymous CD was named one of the top 10 CD’s in the Hudson Valley and the New York Daily Freeman gave it this review: “With a compelling sense of song craft and a way with melody, coupled with Poux’s perfect intonation and hauntingly beautiful voice, ‘Living With Elephants” is a must have.”

Living with Elephants music was also used for the soundtrack of the Don Roos movie, The Other Woman, starring Natalie Portman. We think it makes a good soundtrack for life too.

The Breath Collective:

The concept behind the band name is that we are all one. The breath is the key to this present awareness where we all share this eternal breath. All of life, here, breathing simultaneously, creating the mystery that is life. What a joy in the simplicity of being alive. Within each of us lies the unlimited source of creation. This internal knowledge is paramount towards humanity reaching a place of peace within and thus without.
