BSP Kingston presents

An evening of intimate, piano driven songs, with and without voice.

$10 | 18+ | 7:30 Doors / 8PM Show

Based in the Hudson Valley of New York State, Jeff is a multi-instrumentalist and composer. Lunescapes Volume One  (released March 30, 2018 via The Satellite Union & Psychic Troubles Tapes) is Jeff’s first full-length, solo release. Recorded at home (mostly in the kitchen, on a sometimes unruly upright piano) the Lunescapes offer a series of instrumental vignettes, intimate landscapes, and lo-fi fantasies. The writing and recording for future volumes is ongoing.

From 1998-2011, Jeff was also a member of the band Mercury Rev – contributing to some of the band’s most critically acclaimed work, including Deserter’s SongsAll Is Dream, and more. It was with the band that he gained his first opportunity to write for picture, composing and producing the original score for Robinson Savary’s debut feature-length film, Bye Bye Blackbird.

In addition to his ongoing solo work and work for film, television & commercial advertising, Jeff is an active session musician and current member of Miracle Whips (PDX-based, porch-rock dream team) and the improvisational, noise-rock/spazz-jazz collective, otherwise known as Ultraam.

Jeff has also recently been appointed as National Director of Music for O+ (a national non-profit, based in Kingston, NY that works to provide musicians & visual artists with access to health care). When not in the studio, he can be found fly-fishing the legendary streams of the Catskill Mountains.

Kristín Anna performs music from “I Must Be The Devil”, a cycle of songs she has been writing for over a decade and performed on special occasions. It is an intimate affair, finely woven trans of emotions and confessions of loss and longing carried out by a peculiar voice and unique finger flitting on grand piano. Recently recorded, it will be released this year on Ragnar Kjartansson label Bel-Air Glamour via Vinyl Factory in collaboration with PEOPLE.

Kristín Anna was a member of the band múm from the 1998 until 2006, when she started performing one woman shows as Kría Brekkan, releasing few experimental and rare recordings. In 2015 she released HOWL under her own name, an improvised vocal album and artwork created in the desert of California. A frequent collaborator of visual artist Ragnar Kjartanson, she is one of the musicians in his renowned installation “Visitors”. She wrote music and performed in Forever Love, a musical stage piece by Ragnar, along with her sister Gyða and The National´s Dessner brothers for the first Eaux Claire festival in WI. She regularly writes music, performs and creates in the context of theater, visual and performance arts.

“I Must Be The Devil” is a classic and timeless songwriting, a performance of pure musical expression.
