From Global Rock Showcase:

Punk rock-hardcore & dub-roots-conscious reggae legend HR (of Bad Brains) regrouped with D.I.A and the Global Rock Showcase event brand after a 7 year split to tour his Human Rights solo brand starting January 18, 2014 at SUNY Oneonta University, Oneonta – New York. This is what the legend loves!  The Human Rights sound is mostly passionate roots-conscious dub reggae that is very close to HR’s heart. This is a mellow HR and is completely the opposite of the early energetic formative Bad Brains years.  And quite naturally, artists grow. Fans should not expect a Bad Brains show.

Currently HR is on hiatus from his Bad Brains brothers Earl Hudson, Daryl Jennifer and Gary “Doc” Miller. He will be touring the “HR In Dubb” ep that was recorded 20+ years ago.  After being in the vault  for over two decades, ”HR In Dubb” was released June 2013, by D.I.A Records on major digital outlets online – iTunes, AmazonMP3, Spotify, Rhapsody, EMusic, etc. Under JameKee/D.I.A management then, “HR In Dubb” ep is roots-conscious lyrics recorded over classic Joe Gibbs’ riddims (rhythms) at Hamma Recording studio in the Bronx, NY in 1992.

The Human Rights performance set list includes songs from “Out Of Bounds” (JameKee/DIA Records), “Singing In the Heart” and Viva Azania albums that were released on Greg Ginn’s (of Black Flag) SST Records label in the late ‘80’s and early ‘90’s. So the tour is a compilation of favorite retro classics. And folks, there will be no throw-back.  These awesome songs will be reeled forward into the future. HR will be backed by the Dubb Agents out of New York City. These musicians are a completely different set of no-nonsense professional musicians from the crew HR has rolled with over the past seven years.  HR is amped and is ready to go!  As he said – “I am ready to work man! It is like being reborn after not working for a year.”
